Hey there! I’m Josie Benefield—a creative behind the lens. My passion for photography and videography began in high school when I took a photography course my junior and senior year. One of my lessons was to take a film camera on vacation and capture whatever called to us, then we would develop that film ourselves. One of those images, an image of a palm tree silhouette at sunset, I still have in its original form, hangs on my wall. That simple photo taught me the magic of turning fleeting moments into lasting art—and I’ve been chasing that magic ever since.

I specialize in capturing beautifully designed interior and architectural spaces, where even the corners tell a story. Whether it’s the clean lines of modern design or the intricate details of a historic structure, I love to find beauty in spaces crafted to inspire. I absolutely adore helping people see their projects come to life in ways that resonate emotionally and artistically.

My Creative Style

I thrive on creating vibrant compositions that celebrate a space’s character and purpose. I can transform even the simplest setting into something extraordinary.

But photography isn’t just about technique—it’s about connection and understanding. I take pride in listening to my clients’ visions, collaborating with them, and elevating their ideas into something beyond their expectations. Clients often tell me, “You made this even better than I imagined,” and there’s no greater compliment in my book.

A Few Fun Facts

  • Coffee Order: Vanilla latte with brown sugar or lavender syrup, topped with sweet cream. Hot or iced, depending on my mood.

  • Free Time: You’ll find me curled up with a good book, outside with my husband and our two pups, Baxter and Chloe, or indulging my creative side through painting and crocheting.

  • Hidden Talent: Once upon a time, I became a historian. My love of history fuels my fascination with spaces that hold stories, especially ancient landmarks and architectural wonders.

Career Highlights

One of my proudest moments was receiving an award at the DesignKC Awards Gala for Project of the Year. Seeing my work recognized on magazine covers has been so surreal. It’s a reminder of how far I’ve come and motivates me to keep pushing the boundaries of my craft.
